Problems in buying, selling, & owning a house are common & vast. Paul has handled 100s of real estate claims & lawsuits since 1995. Paul's experience: Dealing with dishonest sellers & real estate brokers, parties who do not want to honor the contract, sellers who want to keep the deposit, escrow errors, title insurance problems, physical inspectors & termite companies who miss the obvious, boundary line disputes, easements, water rights, & partitions when the parents pass away & the siblings cannot decide whether to sell the house - Whew, that's a lot! INSURANCE BAD FAITH
Paul's first legal posting was with a boutique firm that represented insurance companies who wanted to know if a claim was covered. Many decades later, an astute attorney quipped that 'I was a "no-coverage" attorney'. Afterall, what insurance company gives repeat business to an expensive law firm that finds coverage? Not saying I disagree. The days of representing insurance companies ended in the Twentieth Century, but Paul knows a thing or two about how to get a claim covered or paid. Many insurance adjusters can be persuaded to pay when they understand the humanity of their insured's claims. For those that can't, they don't call lawsuits against insurance companies "bad faith" for nothing!
SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY
The ways a human can get injured in modern life are almost limitless. Even in the no-brainer, rear-ender where fault is admitted, the devious defense attorney will throw up throw up mindless, word salad arguments to delay paying. Way back in the 90s, at the end of a multi-day mediation that spanned months, the target defendant dropped a $400,000 offer to zero. The esteemed mediator Hon. Kevin W. Midlam noted, "Defense counsel is saying a legless man can walk!" as he separated Paul from the callous defense attorney. A rare instance of physicality, but Paul brings it all in prosecuting your lawsuit.
